Sexually transmitted diseases:
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are infections that pass from one person to another through sexual contact. In Hungary, STDs are mainly treated by dermatologist and venereologists, because these diseases occurs result symptoms of skin or mucous membrane very often. Gynecologists and urologists (doctors of male genitalia, bladder, kidneys), infectologists (internal medicine specialists of infectious diseases) also detect and cure these diseases.
We recommend testing for STDs when the patient is switching partners.
For screening patient without symptoms, we recommend the following:
- Blood test: HIV, syphilis
- From the vagina / urethra: Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia trachomatis, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Mycoplasma genitalia, Mycoplasma hominis, Trichomonas vaginalis, sprouting fungi and general bacteriology - smear test.
In case of having symptoms:

- targeted pathogen testing
- complete STD test

- human papillomavirus (HPV) PCR assay
Sexually transmitted infections are usually asymptomatic or cause non-symptomatic symptoms, and healing can only be determined by microbiological tests.
